What kind of radio ?

chyna's avatar

Actually it’s for a clock radio and fire alarm. I can’t seem to line up the hole thingys.

Is it a 9v? Those are a pain, but the connector for that usually has some extra length on the wires so it can be pulled out a bit.

chyna's avatar

Yes, it is a 9 volt.

It may be mounted in a slide. I had mine a couple of years before I knew the connector could slide out.

Any success yet?

chyna's avatar

Sigh….no. I got frustrated and quit after 20 minutes.

The battery and the clip/connector have to be, “Perfectly aligned”, I know because all the smoke detectors in the house have 9V volt.

It is only a back up in case of power failure anyway, isn’t it?

chyna's avatar

No, this is an old one. It’s the only power source.

Pictures of the situation, girlfriend.

Ugh, you poor thing. I have little arthritic hands and I have resorted to using those big-mouth adjustable wrenches to gently squeeze the connectors together.

ETA: look for YouTube videos that might help
