What are some cheap, tasty and healthy legumes to experiment with eating?
Also how to cook them. I would not want any Red Kidney beans or lima beans. Will go shopping in 5 hours about.

Butter beans are really good. Big green and creamy.
Although if you dont like kidney beans, you may not like any that I do, as they’re my favorite bean.
@Tropical_Willie haha, fine, but butter beans sound so much more appealing.
I love good pinto beans with jalapeno cornbread, or white beans with ham, but lima’s and kidneys are good in salads and soups for a little low fat protein..
As long as it’s not split pea, gag!!
If you don’t like the texture or taste of kidney beans, maybe chick peas are worth a try. They are quite different. You could even roast them in the oven to make a crunchy snack.
Bought some black eyed beans. Will follow instructions when I feel up to it.
Update: I am making black eyed beans with ham hocks in the crock pot. Will be ready in about 3 hours. Is 4:49am here.
Update: Pork hocks were perfect. Black eyed beans need to be cooked longer. 9:24am.
@RedDeerGuy1 Are you sure they were stale or did you not cook them long enough?
@KNOWITALL I followed the directions. I even called the support number. They told me to get a refund from the store. Too hot to go to the store today.
