How likely is it that a catfisher is posing as your actual boyfriend/girlfriend etc. without them knowing it?

I have never seen this happen, but it is a thought that I had. I literally asked myself this question in my head like “How likely is that? Hmm.”

Probably not very likely, and if your boyfriend/girlfriend has even a drop of intelligence, they’re going to figure out within 5 minutes.

I’m trying to understand why a person would pose as a bf/gf? What’s in it for them?
