Can you help me find a song?

Asked by Kardamom (33525points) August 12th, 2019 from iPhone

I heard this song on the radio a few days ago. I’m guessing it’s a song from around the year 2000, just thinking about where I worked at the time, and having a vague memory of hearing the song on the radio at the time.

I believe it is a British or possibly Australian rock/alternative band, with a male lead singer, with a somewhat high voice.

The only discernible lyric seems to be “the voices in my head, uh aah, uh aah” which is repeated several times throughout the song.

Sorry this is incredibly vague, buy it’s driving me crazy. Hopefully one of you music sleuths can figure it out.

@jca2 Thank you, but that’s not it.

You can pick from the list just Google “the voices in my head music video 2000”

I don’t think the name of the song is The Voices in My Head. So far none of these are the right song. I tried that kind of search earlier today.

The worst part is that I may not have the correct lyrics. That is what it sounded like to me.

List of UK top-ten singles in 2000. My last suggestion is to play every song on the list and grind it out the hard way. Might take hours unless you have a fast internet connection.

Could the lyrics have been something like, “Noises in My Bed”, “Horses in my shed”, or the unforgettable “choices in my bread”? ;-p

@Brian1946 Ha ha ha! Yes! I probably have the lyrics wrong.

The song was not a huge hit, but they definitely used to play it on what was called back then, the alternative music station.

If I hear it again, which is not likely, I will ask Siri on my phone. Unfortunately, I was driving, and by the time I pulled over, the song was over.

@Kardamom

If you remember some of the melody, perhaps humming it to Siri will help.

If you or someone you know has Apple music you can search songs by lyrics.

The Police – Voices Inside My Head seems to fit.
I’m sorry I can’t provide a link.

Thanks everybody. It is none of these.

I have waded through a ton of songs. The guy’s voice, and the musical style is similar to this song by The Cribs:

Update: I finally heard the song again, now that it’s 2 months later. As soon as it came on the radio, I grabbed my phone and asked Siri what it was.

It was The Trojans in My Head, by Atlas Genius. So there were no “voices” it was trojans. Ha ha ha!

Here is the song:
