Is the media coverage of yesterday’s events in Philadelphia another example of anti gun obsession?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) August 15th, 2019 from iPhone

Shouldn’t the press have balanced this coverage with a stabbing or automobile hit and run somewhere? What’s with this press obsession with gunplay?

@stanleybmanly Because it’s totally out-of-line with what we see in other developed nations around the world? USA is the statistical outlier (in a bad way).

But shouldn’t the press have the obligation to prepare us for the coming automobile and knife mass murder wave?

I personally welcome the knife mass murder waves. If you look back at history, those were far less lethal than high capacity magazines in semi-automatics.

Yeah, I was actually just pining for the days of swordplay earlier today.

Jim Jones did it with Kool Aid, so there’s that.

Yes and the plague of KOOL AID exterminations have dogged us mercilessly ever since. Where’s the press coverage?

KNOWITALL's avatar

@stanleybmanly I could make a joke about how many actually do appear to ‘drink’ the Kool Aid by both major parties.

But is it news?

KNOWITALL's avatar

@stanley Every minute of every day with political KoolAid, yes.

Nobody got killed in philly, they weren’t being anti gun, they were being pro-cop.

They balanced the pro cop with stories about the cop who raped suspects.
