If your gold crown came off did the glue job work well for you?

Last night I had an old , gold crown come off . It’s pretty thin and was all the way in the back on the top. It seems when I try to remember that the dentist gluing them back on works for only a couple weeks then they come off again. How did a glue job work for you?

I’ve had crowns come off and be reglued and not had a problem. No gold crowns in my mouth.
