Can protesters be replaced by robots?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) September 22nd, 2019

No not the protesters job, but the protest themselves.
What can and cant be replaced by A.I. and automation.
Like prayer in Buddhist temples prayer wheels.
What are some extreme and in that middle gray areas for replacing humans?

I would think that they could replace the protesters, but wouldn’t the protest lose a little bit of its reason for being? Part of the protest is that people are willing to die for what they believe. If the human is replaced, the emotion that goes with the protest flies out the window with the replacement

They need to be heavily armed and armoured, to successfully vanquish the enemy cops.

No. Who would take them seriously?

The police and the protesters will eventually be replaced by robots who will battle it out in the city streets over issues such as Brexit, climate change or the price of butter. The human protesters will cheer from the side-lines while being filmed by government security cameras.

Sure. Those who can afford them can pit them against the robot cops.

I would like to see pro football players get replaced by robots!

I want to see all issues settled by chess games (i.e. Harry Potter).
Perhaps we could each send our avatar in our place.

Yes, they can be replaced with bulletproof robots with laser eyes that burn out security cameras and crush the state.

Or, if you want to get more extreme about it . . .

I thought most protesters WERE robots.

No, that’s trump supporters!

And what would be the point of that?

@Darth_Algar They explain it here .

Protests will be the last thing to be automated. What makes protest effective is the human element.
