Did you know that paprika is made from dry ground red pepper?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24942points) September 24th, 2019

I don’t like peppers but I love paprika on rotisserie chicken. I guess that I can stop avoiding red pepper and greens on my pizza ect. What are other realizations about food do you wish to share? What is ground green pepper named, and is it good on rotisserie chicken?

Not just any old red pepper, but the bonnet pepper, and it is a mildly pungent spice.

Chinese hot and sour soup is made by adding black pepper and vinegar at the end.

I love smokey paprika, but never tried ground green peppers. IF you really want to know put some paprika & ground green peppers on your chicken. IF you like the taste, next time just use the ground green pepper. I’d think the ground green peppers would be good in scrambled eggs as well!!!

I always assumed it was made from red dirt.

It says 100 % Ground or Pure Ground Red Pepper.
False advertising I guess.

@Dutchess_III Seriously, when I was a kid, I didn’t really understand the correlation.

Was it shocking when you found out @anniereborn.

@Dutchess_III No, just confusing. It wasn’t long before I became a vegetarian.

I remember asking as a toddler if chickens (then cows, pigs, etc) LIKED to be eaten.

I think I kinda thought of them as still having feelings even after they were cooked.
