Do you see signs of early onset Alzheimer's with Trump?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47126points) September 24th, 2019

Regarding the Ukraine phone call, trump blathered “....was largely the fact that we don’t want our people, like Vice President Biden and his son, creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine.”
Creating to the corruption? You know, using the wrong words can be a sign of Alzheimer’s.

Yes something is definitely wrong with his speech patterns.
Early sign of dementia with outbursts of temper as well.Unless he is drinking heavily?
Isn’t he in his late 70’s now?

Dutchess_III's avatar

His temper could just be because he’s a spoiled brat.

Inspired_2write's avatar

Lack of impulse control, I think.
Flies off the handle spouting his angry responses then thinks on it later and that’s if he does think on it?

Inspired_2write's avatar

@flutherother Wow, backtracking his first statement now saying that is was an error??
What will he backtrack on now? How many other things did he not mean to say ..abet after the incidents?

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I have said multiple times that I do believe he is in the beginning stages of dementia.

Covfefe spelled backward is Efefvoc and see what means !

Stache's avatar

Some say he takes Adderall which would explain his small pupils, lack of sleep and irritability.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Isn’t Adderall for ADD people?

Stache's avatar

ADHD. It’s quite popular with millennials. Supposedly they take it to help them focus. One guy at work takes it for this reason and he always looks angry.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

He doesn’t strike me as hyperactive. But maybe he is.

Stache's avatar

People without ADHD take it for the reason I stated. They get a hold of it illegally or lie to their doctor to get it.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

There are 2 different conditions:
1) ADD. Attention deficit disorder.
2) Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Adderall is basically amphetamine.

Stache's avatar

@Dutchess Right. I’m not saying Trump has either of those conditions. I’m saying he uses it as an upper.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Got ya Stache. Thanks.

MrGrimm888's avatar

To a degree, yes. But He has an upper hand in about a third of the country. Those terrible people, will not care. They are more motivated by his agenda…

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

He received a perfect score 30/30 in his dementia test when he first became president as part of his psychical. Unless the results were fudged.
I took the test last month.

Aster's avatar

I have watched every speech he has made from day one. Not one time have I ever witnessed an óutburst of temper” which is something seen in perfectly sane people all over the world everyday. It makes me wonder if many people have ever witnessed an outburst of temper because I have. Example: someone gets angry and throws a coffee cup across the room. Someone puts his fist through a wall. Someone picks up a lamp table and throws it. Someone gets mad and kicks a pet or spouse. Can someone send one link of Trump showing behavior or evidence of such that even comes close to this genuine loss of temper? He is also not hyperactive in the least. He is very calm. Now if we want to discuss speaking in broken sentences on occasion we can at least agree with that. This is serious , if not quite rare, if it has kept his colleagues from communicating with him. I , for one, do not finish each sentence during conversations with friends and family and nobody has of yet brought it up.

MrGrimm888's avatar

^With all due respect, and I do respect you @Aster, what relevance does temper, have to do with dementia?

And he has shown signs, of a temper. At several of his rallies, one in particular, he has encouraged violence. And even stated, that he would pay for the violent offender’s attorney fees.
He threatened North Korea, with nuclear destruction. He supports, or is complicit, about white suppremacists’ violence. And makes fun of handicapped people, and fires, anyone who disagrees with him. All, verifiable facts. From his own lips, usually on a public stage, or Twitter.
He has walked out of meetings, with international leaders, when things aren’t going his way. He has openly criticized other world leaders, who disagree with him. He has made up demeaning nicknames, for his opposition. He has attacked ALL of the US’s intelligence communities, and the press. And he openly admitted to sexual assault, on multiple occssions. He has tried to take away health care, from over 20 million people, just because he doesn’t like Obama. He mocked the recently deceased Mc Cain. And even took a ship with McCain’s name, out of service. I can’t post links, but all of this, is available on YouTube.
He has shown WAY less self control, than ANY POTUS, that I am aware of.

I will give him credit, for not using the US military, to start wars. That contradicts, my argument. But. I am very pleased he has been mostly bark, and not bite. His only command to kill, came after a chemical attack, in Syria.

I used to listen to his interviews with Howard Stern, decades ago, and he seems to speak differently now…As far as speaking in more simple terms, and seeming less sharp…

Darth_Algar's avatar

@RedDeerGuy1

On the question of dementia he also compared his mental state to Ronald Reagan. So make of that what you will…

Dutchess_lll's avatar

The man used a sharpie on an official map of a hurricane to replot the course of a hurricane to prove he was right and that it would hit Georgia! That’s the action of a 5 year old!
I’m sure @Aster thought he was being delibetately hilarious.
The rest of the world recognized it as the insanity that it was….BECAUSE HE WAS SERIOUS! HE WAS NOT. JOKING!

Stache's avatar

Did you hear what he said about Pelosi today? He said she’s no longer Speaker of the House. He thinks he can fire her. I shit you not.

MrGrimm888's avatar

Seriously .Would anyhing Trump does “surpise” you. At this point?

Stache's avatar

If he’d ever apologize. For anything.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Welp. His supporters didn’t want a “career politician.” They wanted someone who was utterly clueless about how our government is set up. Ignorant of the Constitution.
They got their wish.
And the fool sits on the floor.of the Oval Office drawing with his crayons and sharpies.
He can’t even sign his own name!!

MrGrimm888's avatar

^Sadly, you fail to understand whtat is relevant.
You are underestimating Trump’s base. Regardless of what we thought originally, they are even dumber…. They hate it. But they prove it, over and over….

Dutchess_III's avatar

How am I underestimating his foolish and stupid base of deplorables?

MrGrimm888's avatar

They aren’t ALL deplorable. Bot don’t expect this to bring down Teflon Don… That’s all.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

If any one still actively supports the man they ARE deplorable.

MrGrimm888's avatar

^Well. You’ll get little argument, from me, on that opinion.

I would say, that some are just gullible. Ignorance, doesn’t necessarily make people deplorable… Most of his supporters, are sheep. The ones who actually want him.to succeed in his agenda, are certainly terrible people….

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Have you seen the tweet where he used the word “liddle’ ” then cried about CNN taking the “hyphen” out so it became “liddle.”
trump says taking the “hyphen” out makes him look stupid, like he misspelled “little.”
Hyphen any one? I also have some free quotation marks that look like this….& & & &.
I have the best, most sexy quotation marks. If I wasn’t married I probably be dating my quotation marks.
The further down the road we go the more terrifying it is that he has access to the launch.codes.

Darth_Algar's avatar

Lord, remember when misspelling “potatoe” was enough to sink a political career?

Sagacious's avatar

No. I’m no expert but I’ve watched a few people live with it, and die with it.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Me too @Sagacious. My Mom for one. Which is why, IMO, he’s showing signs of dementia similar to some of the signs my mom showed.

For example ”“I want to make a deal that works, so let’s not make it….”

“Otto Warmbier….And I’m in such a horrible position because in one way I have to negotiate. The other way, I love Mr. and Mrs. Warmbier. And I love Otto”

“But I didn’t have to go there. I didn’t have to go there. And I landed [at] this airport, the most incredible thing. We must have spent $3 billion building it. It’s one of the reasons I don’t want to leave Iraq so fast. I said, ‘How do we leave this thing?’

Here is the source so you can put all those blathering examples in context.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I’m going to with hold an opinion on that @Stache. I’m not sure I trust the dctribune. The pretended to link to a Washington Post article, which I would have trusted, but the link just sent me to a page not found.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I don’t doubt he was/is on Adderall. I don’t see how an 80 year old could cope with such a job without it or something like it. Most sitting president’s probably had “help.” Kennedy was on amphetamines for sure.

I also don’t put it past people to insinuate Trump is wallowing in his own baby diaper shit. At 80 this is not really all that abnormal though.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Kennedy was also in chronic pain from the time he was a child.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

True, but the infamous Dr feel-good got him on speed not pain killers.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I don’t know whether he was on pain killers, in addition to speed, or not. I can see the need for the speed, though. I wouldn’t want to get out of bed if I hurt that bad.
