Why does "cup of soup" taste better than ramen?
I noticed the difference and I don’t know why? Have you noticed it too?

Maybe more salt in a cup of soup?
I wont eat either but cup o noodle has better flavor for sure. More bouillon maybe.
Sooo much sodium though bleck!
Taste is a personal thing. Some like soup. Some like ramen.
The soups are full of chemicals, and your ramen is most likely made by people who do not now shit about actual ramen.
@RedDeerGuy1 Yes that too. I have a Japanese American friend who I go with discovering new eating spots in search of decent to really good ramen. He would tell me how a good Japanese noodle is made and what kind it is.
One of the spots we go to import their noodles from Japan. It seems to get better, even healthier noodle dish you go out and get it. But definitely more costly and time consuming.
Funny. I’m getting hungry now and there’s not much in the fridge so I’m eyeing one of these instant noodle cups in the cupboard. Lemme check the sodium…....( walks away , returns )...yeah, 1090 mg.
The first answer was my first thought, also, salt
Because: personal preference.
Maybe the cup of soup is an egg noodle? Or, maybe one is a wheat noodle, and the other a rice noodle?
Does the cup of soup have more fat?
@JLeslie Good questions. I don’t have any cup of soups left to read the ingredients. I will compare next time I go shopping at Super store or Safeway.
Because it’s easier to make?
What soups are you comparing to ramen? Like, tomato soup, chicken and noodles or what?
There’s a better balance of the ingredients!!!

OK. IMO, they taste exactly the same. Lots and lots of salt. Which isn’t a bad thing for my diet.
I used to make a really good “mac and cheese” for the daycare using Ramen and Velveeta cheese. The Ramen gave it a unique flavor. Of course, I didn’t use the spice package (which is where the salt is.)
