Alzheimer’s disease.
I feel it can be very dehumanizing.

Cancer would be my pick as well. Seeing kids with that breaks my heart.

Impossible to choose just one.

Muscular dystrophy – I have had friends with it, and it was awful to see them getting weaker and weaker.

Cancer, pancreatic seems to be the worst of them.

Alzheimers, yes.

Alzheimers

Cardiovascular is the leading cause of death. But I think the progression and arbitrary nature of cancer is particularly cruel.

I think I would choose the same as OP.

Having worked closely in the past with sufferers of Alzheimers & seen the carnage that wreaks on them & their families, that would certainly be my number one choice.

One lovely fella died in mine & a colleagues arms, he was still so full of life & humour, was only 48 too & yes..I wept.

Alzheimer’s. My grandma had it. My mom had it. And I am terrified I will get it.
Plus it sucks balls.

I realized that I didn’t say why regarding my answer. It’s because Alzheimer’s sucks all the person out of you for yourself and those who love you.

@janbb You said that perfectly

Cancer is technically an umbrella of many different diseases, but if we’re allowed to bundle them together, then that’s an obvious choice.

The flu might be another (less obvious) choice—if we’re allowed to pick umbrella diseases. 10’s of thousands of people die every year from the flu, and it impacts the economy and society in a pretty significant way. BTW don’t forget to get your flu shot this year.
