How did you feel your first day of school, if you can't remember, first day of high school?

Asked by wrestlemaniac (810points) August 28th, 2008

Today I started my junior year of high school, and I felt the same way I did the first time I went to school, and I also felt like summer break lasted 2 days, When I went back I felt like I’ve been there everyday of my life.

I’ve always enjoyed school and ever since I was little I’ve always been excited to go back to school when summer ended. As for the part you say about summer break feeling like it lasted two days – I pack as much as I can into my summer so that by the time it’s over I’ve pretty much squeezed every ounce of life out of it.
To answer your main question, I’m always excited for the first day of school.
I start my junior year of college on Sept. 25th. I’m 20 years old and still excited about school. =)

I was extremely disappointed and sad, because I was in kindergarten (where I mother insisted I remain), and the other kids didn’t like me at all, and most avoided me, like I had some sort of disease.

You see, my wonderful mother (may Gawd rest her soul) had taught me how to read and write at home, and I could do both, at age two. Therefore, by the time I entered kindergarten, I was 3 years ahead of the other kids, who were totally illiterate.

I told my kindergarten teacher that I could read and write (and count to 1,000), so she called my mother to the school for a Parent-Teacher conference, suggesting (as an advocate for me) to the Principal that I be moved to the First Grade classes, because “He is already functioning at their level.”

My mother said, “He stays right where he is, and has a normal childhood!”

That’s the one serious error that I believe my mother made, regarding my rearing. Yes, I would have been the youngest kid in the First Grade, but in many ways, I was already ahead of them, too.

I was terrified my freshman year, mainly of losing my boyfriend ha. I had what some call a summer romance. I thought he would lose interest in me and go for a more “mature” girl.

Lovelyy, Why dosn’t he consider you a “Mature” person?

wrestlemaniac: I was just a freshman in high school, think about it.

Hey I was a freshman, and I had Girls lining up for me.

That isn’t “lining up.”

It’s called a FIRING SQUAD.

Freshmen year had the worst day imaginable but the next 2 years I wasn’t excited but I wasn’t terrified anymore.
