If you happen to be at the office at home, wherever, doing something that you were very focused on, do you miss everything else that happened? Say, if there was an announcement on the intercom, and you were asked later what the announcement was, would you answer “I didn’t even know something was announced on the intercom, never mind what was said”? is that imaginable? Yes, sometimes I am like that.
Oh I got that beat, i’m not observant at all.
I could be driving, out walking the dog, or on one of my runs & i’ll be like…“who put that tree there?”
I love the feeling that goes along with being mindful during an activity I enjoy.
I’ve had many conversations about that very thing with others who are involved in art especially.
I am an observant person and can put all that energy into concentrating on my work and when I am in my head,my home could probably burn down around me & I would not notice .Lol
We have no idea how much we miss by focusing hard on one thing. It’s kind of like running a red light. You don’t know you ran it because if you’d known it was there you wouldn’t have run ot.
A piece that’s worthy of burning your house down? That’s a lot of pressure, man.
Rarely do I miss anything. I stay in the yellow zone of awareness.
@raum -My home should suffer for my art. XD
@Dutchess_III very neat video! I did count 15 passes and noticed the gorilla. Like I said, rarely do I miss anything. I’m paid to notice everything, it’s my job.
It’s nice when they give the answers at the end, too.
