Does anybody think it is okay for Trump to host the G7 summit at his golf resort?

Asked by LostInParadise (32215points) October 18th, 2019

When I first heard Trump suggesting this a few months ago, I thought for sure he was joking. This is such a blatant violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution. Are his fellow Republicans going to just let this slide? He is facing impeachment for mixing his personal interests into government, and what does he do? Hey, you want to impeach me? Here, I will give you something to impeach me for.

I think by this stage of the game Trump thinks he is above all laws and the Constitution he really believes he can do anything he wants.
And going on and on about the Bidens, and how Hunter only get the job because his dad was VP really.

Really and Ivanka got her position because she had so much experience ,nothing to do with her Dad being president.
Sorry and to answer your question NO I do not think it’s OK to hold the G7 at a Trump resort.

FUCK NO…

Part of me thinks it was meant as distraction from the already impeachable things he has done.

I watched the presser with Mulvaney yesterday live and it started off with the G7 talk and I think that was the plan. Maybe they thought the G7 thing was so obviously outrageous that it would consume the entire thing. But then it didn’t and good ol’ Mick admitted what they had been denying all along.

It is funny. I used to feel like I had it bad living in Trumps America. Now I think the Trump sycophants have it even worse spinning this shit so hard. Hi yellow! Each day gets harder and harder, doesn’t it?

I have a feeling Mulvaney will want to spend more time with his family later today. Fire Friday..

@johnpowell I think using the term “hi yellow” is racist.

Why not? It’s not like it’s the first time he’s used his position as president to benefit one of his resorts.

Trump said he will not choose his resort. He blamed the Democrats and the media for his decision. When was the last time Trump gave in on anything because of the opinions of the Democrats or the media?
