Was Dudley Moore’s character in the movie Arthur the funniest drunk in film history so far?

I would be interested in discovering another film with another funny drunk character, main or supporting in it.
I own copies of Arthur 1 and 2 and to this day both movies are still pretty potent sources of cinematic entertainment. As hilarious as when they were first released and as romantically touching as ever. Also, this was the first movie that made me wish I had a (funny and loving) butler. The second one was Batman. Lol

I never found Dudley Moore anywhere near as funny as W.C. Fields. And I disagree with you on Arthur 2.
I like Charlie Chapman. He captures a drunk perfectly. Trying to act sober, but clearly not. And an original.
Otherwise, I’d have to go with the three actors, on Workaholics.
Arthur is one of the funniest films of all time. I have come to not like it for the one reason that alcoholism isn’t funny, nor are people when they drink heavily.
You may think I have my panties in a wad or whatever, but if they had just made Arthur an irresponsible, crazily funny rich kid used to being able to do anything he wanted, transitioning and having to make some grown-up decisions (because the monied people in his life was trying to make them for him), it would have been just as good a film, without making alcoholism something funny. Alcoholism, gambling, other destructive habits, make people abusive and lose everything, and greatly inhibits people’s ability to make responsible decisions and take control of their lives—and brings down others as well.
No, that would be Jackie Chan in “Drunken Master”.
I have never even heard of your guy.
^^ I find that old drunken Master to be funnier than Chan. Where were you in the 80s when Hollywood had Moore?
I liked both of those movies.
^^Yes, the first one’s better but the sequel still holds enough magic for me.
@mazingerz88 -Me too. It’s been awhile since I have seen them.
^^I have copies of both movies and revisit them once every two years. Recently realized the movie industry didn’t seem to have made anymore movies on happy drunks. Hence my question.
@mazingerz88 – They don’t want to hear from the “outraged” ?
