If you had the extra money what would you eat right now?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) October 19th, 2019

I would eat some KFC, a beef and cheese quesadilla, and cook some pork chops.
I would wash it down with name brand chilled coke from A&W in a frosted mug.
I might add a CostCo rotisserie whole chicken.
Maybe a beef rib from Montanas steak house.
Also beef and broccoli from the restaurant next door.
A couple of cherry and lemon tarts for snack.
Maybe a spaghetti with extra cheese and meat.

All that, ahem…“food” you listed, it’s basically a fart on a plate.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@ucme Ok. What would you eat then?

anniereborn's avatar

@RedDeerGuy1 You would eat ALL that right now? Oh lawdy.

anniereborn's avatar

My answer: A veggie pizza from the best local pizza place.

This question reminds me once again how lucky I really am. I have access to enough money to have anything I want to eat. My “extra money” goes to pay other people to prepare my food and clean up afterwards.

anniereborn's avatar

@YARNLADY Really? I am damn envious!

A 30-course meal at some three-star Michelin restaurant, I suppose. When it comes to food, I pretty much buy what I want when I want, but I don’t eat that much when you look at what I buy. I don’t go to nice restaurants all that often, though (for monetary reasons as well as a lack of people to go with), and there are many I would like to try.

Hit up the organ black market, buy a human liver.

Probably about 300 super spicy crawfish. Fried catfish, or flounder. Some blackened alligator tail. Some fresh bream. Thinly sliced potatoes, with green peppers and onions.

Or…

A gyro meat platter, with Greek potatoes, a huge Greek salad, and a few big slices of feta, with kalmata olives, and tomatoes.

Or… A beautiful redhead girl…

How MUCH extra money? A spare hunnert bucks and I’m off to The Rusty Barrel Supper Club in Ponca City. An extra two hunnert and we’ll take another couple.

To gain entrance you have to walk down the alley, go through the orange doors, and ring the bell.
There was no liquor by the drink back in those days and so we operated as a private club where members stored their liquor bottles at the bar and we poured drinks for them from their nicely numbered bottles. We kept the door locked and installed a door bell just like the prohibition era speakeasies. Kay County passed liquor by the drink in 1985 but the door bell and Orange door tradition continues to this day. So come by and ring the bell and join us at the Rusty Barrell Supper Club!”
Best steak I’ve ever eaten.

It was founded in 1974.

Probably try an authentic wagyu steak sous vide and then seared in a cast iron griddle over an open fire.

Right now, nothing, because I’m full. We went out for pizza, and I ate too much of it.

I have heard of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I think they have one of those in Ponca too. Haven’t been there yet, though.
When I go to Rusty Barrel I always get a T-bone. People look at me like I’m insane. I’m not very big and I’m a girl…what am I going to do with that much steak? HA! I get both a filet and a KC strip at the same time, and for less money than if I ordered them separately. I eat about half of the steak and take the rest home.

mazingerz88's avatar

^^For some reason since college I just like and really enjoy women who has a big appetite for steaks. My go to place is Ruth’s around DuPont Circle. So yes, if there’s extra dough…lol

Dutchess_III's avatar

I eat it so very, very rarely that when I do eat it I just pig out! But like I said, of a T-bone I’ll only eat half and take the other half home. It’s delicious cold, too.

When I was a kid, on nice Sundays, we often had “juicy steak.” That meant Dad cooked on the grill outside (it was the ONLY thing he ever cooked) and Mom made baked potatoes with cheese sauce. We each got our own steak. If we didn’t, we three girls would be fighting like a pack of mongrel dogs over who got the bone! Man, that marrow was delicious too. We also had sweet tea with juicy steak. Every other meal we had milk (Mom grew up on a dairy farm. She was a firm believe in milk! You could never had too much milk!) And we’d clean our plates.

A shrimp plate.
Lobster Plate.
I don’t get this often so it would be a treat .
Shrimp and pasta dinner the best.
Also sushi plate.

The best food I ever had was on one Valentines Day. Rick grilled steak and lobsters on the grill. Oh. My. God. That dinner satisfied something deep inside of me. Best of all, we were at home so I just ate with my fingers. I got every single shred of lobster out.

The reason I put something as boring as pizza is cuz the question said “right now”, well “right then” i was too lazy to get off my ass.

I want to go heat the leftover italian sausage and pasta that’s in the frig. I’m trying to resist it. Not sure how it’s going to go, but I’m not sleepy. :)

I can’t think of anything that would want to eat right now that I don’t have here in the house. I’m pretty well stocked right now.

Update: I have lots of spaghetti with 6 packages of real hamburger meat and Classico Bolognese sauce. It is awesome. Sometimes I add shredded Tex Mex cheese.

I am happy with it.

Rick usually does most of the shopping, and he loads up on the foods he prefers…heavy on the meats. Every 6 months I go shopping so I can load up on the foods that I like.
Spent $92.00 today. Bought yogurt, salmon, tuna, oysters, cream cheese, tomato juice, 6 packs of various juices, like cranberry, grape and apple…I make Popsicles for the kids out of those. I bought pinto beans in anticipation of making corn bread n beans one of these days. 2 boxes of Jiffy corn bread mix. Broccoli.
