Appropriate age for men to begin wearing moustaches?

Asked by Elfman (452points) July 30th, 2007

Men who are too young look ridiculous in moustaches. What's the cut-off age?

I'm going to vote for 40ish.

No age limits. Mustaches require the proper attitude. That is all. Must-dssh.

I think the style of the mustache matters quite a bit, especially in relation to ethnicity. A Middle Eastern of any age, for example, should not wear a handlebar mustache. Actually, it might be kinda cool. But overall, head hair should either be graying or otherwise gruff looking before growing a mustache. Mid to high thirties should be alright.

Depends on whether you can pull it off. I went with a goatee as soon as I could, eventually became a bearded man and have never looked back. The aim is when I'm forty to be in the "Just for Men" ads. But it all depends, I think people with certain types of faces look stellar with mustaches. They can look very debonair and dangerous. Or kind of old school. Or they can look stupid. No age. Personality and facial type.

only French men that say "wi wi ahaha" should wear a mustache. I suppose some Italians can, but only if they are serving you spaghetti. Also villians.

I think I just outlned Disney's mustache rules.

See remake of wonderful 1962 black and white Italian movie, MAFIOSO. It has been reformatted and now showing at indie theatres. You will look at Italian mustaches in a whole new way. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056210/

I really want to see that film. There's also La Mustache which I haven't seen but in which a mustache figures heavily. I've heard good things. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0428856/

La Moustache is much more complicated and contemporary - lots of time shifts, but very interesting (if a bit confusing) if you are a movie (or mustache) fan. MAF in Italian; Mous. in French.
