What are bridal registries for?

Both. In my experience (and those of my friends) the registry is “open” to all who wish to send presents to the couple, regardless of whether it’s a shower gift or a wedding gift.

@elbanditoroso -That is what I am having trouble with. I sent the bride a set of luggage and a check.
I figured it would cover both events but I am now wondering if I should have spaced them out to delineate?

@lucillelucillelucille sounds like you have been generous, so don’t worry about it. If the bride gets bent out of shape over it, then you can send her an etiquette book for Christmas.
