Have you heard that Russia started the whole upset about taking a knee?

Asked by JLeslie (65790points) October 24th, 2019

The athletes who took a knee during the National Anthem before football games, supposedly the outrage was started by Russia on social media. Do you think it is true, and do you think all outrage about anything political should be dismissed? I don’t mean issues should be dismissed, but the outrage, the level of anger or offense needs to be toned down?

Does is matter if Russia starts the outrage, if they are talking about facts? Individuals can still choose not to be outraged.

Well I’d need some proof to buy into that.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was started by Russia.

A FB friend of mine, a black woman, often shares memes and things relating to Black Lives Matter, black history, etc. Many of these come from accounts that have a person’s name, but don’t seem to actually be a person. Sometimes I google the details in the meme to see if it’s accurate, and sometimes they’re not. From what was stated recently, many of these are fake FB accounts that are solely for the purpose of stirring up outrage and dividing the country.

I believe it more than probable that any fad relying on the stupidity of Americans will be exploited by the Russians.
