Should Katie Hill have resigned?
Freshman congressman Katie Hill from California resigned yesterday after information that she had an affair with a male staffer on her campaign came to light (she initially denied the affair but then admitted to it). Nude photos of her posted on a porn site were also leaked, which Hill decries as “revenge porn”.
Some Democrats, like Kamala Harris, are defending her. But it seems to me that in today’s #metoo culture, Hill was finished the moment she had an affair with an employee.

I heard that her husband found out about two affairs, one with a male staffer, one with a female staffer, and got so mad he did post revenge pics.
This is kind of like a Bill Clinton situation, as it’s between consenting adults, but appropriate or not is still debatable.
For me, yes, she should resign.
Yes. She had a sexual relationship with a subordinate. That’s unacceptable. It’s wrong when a man does it and it’s just as wrong when a woman does it. It’s wrong when it’s a Republican and when it’s a Democrat.
It ruined John Edwards chances of running for President in the early 2000’s. He had an affair with a subordinate and had a baby with her.

Was the scandal bad enough to resign? Sure. With her inappropriate sexual encounters with her aides, the nude photos of her published online, including exposing a tattoo described as “Nazi Era” (an iron cross), she would be ineffective in her job from now until we all get Alzheimer’s.
@chyna I still worry about that family, but most people forget about them. Plus he was paying her from a business or political account, it was pretty crazy at the time since his political aspirations were fairly high.
