Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, start singing your country's national anthem...how did that feel & what reaction did you get?

Asked by ucme (50047points) October 30th, 2019

How far did you get? :D
If you’re at work or somewhere this act would be considered inappropriate, then you may whisper sing it if you wish…cowards
Participants will be well rewarded…just sayin.

No reaction: I’m the only one here.

@kritiper That’s still good for me though, kudos sir.

No reaction either. And I don’t feel anything. National anthem seems to only feel powerful when it’s sung in a group.

No feeling even when I sing it at what ever function in a crowd.

I made a face at myself in my imagination, just for beginning to think about doing that even a little bit.

I’m alone tonight but it felt just fine.

I’m terrible at singing the US anthem, and I don’t really enjoy singing the song. I can’t get through the whole song on my own, lol. Since I never sing it I get lost, and don’t remember fully straight through.

When hearing it I do think of country and freedom and my appreciation for where I live.

There are other patriotic songs I like much more. America (My Country Tis of Thee) is one. We used to sing it in grade school after the pledge. Same music as God Save the Queen.

@JLeslie Ahh, that last bit is interesting, something I didn’t know.

@Zaku Same.

@ucme Whats the reward for the singers?

@ucme Here’s a wikipedia link about the song https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_(My_Country,_%27Tis_of_Thee)

And, a YouTube so you can hear it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u0ywDLpfBHg

Even better God Bless America. The words are much simpler and well known, and a lovely song. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-z5hD38Bs8Y

@KNOWITALL That’s up to them whatever they request.

@JLeslie That’s quite a shock, I thought that tune was unique to our anthem, cheers for revealing otherwise.
