In this recent discussion on Fluther, someone linked a Breitbart article. There was a debate about whether Breitbart is reliable, and talk of what are some other reliable news sources that are not to the right or to the left. One of the people involved in the discussion said the New York Times is not reliable and is too far to the left. To me, the NY Times was always the most reliable.

In your opinion, what are some good newspapers or news outlets that you consider not too far to the left or to the right?

NPR is very good. So is the BBC. ABC is good.
I was distressed to learn that CNN was a bit left leaning so I rarely peruse them any more.
The Washington Post is good too.
The NY Times was considered reliable until they pissed off trump and he declared them fake news. Now the right screams if you quote the NYT. I get most of my news from the BBC or Al Jazeera/English. I have no clue from where they get their info, but it does seem to be less slanted than any of the US News. I used to depend on Fox News until they swung so far right that they fact planted. I used to depend on NBC News until they swung so far left that they can’t be trusted. The BBC and AJ print the facts without any journalists right or left slant. I find it sad that I have to outsource my news to get a balanced opinion on what’s going on in my own country
The Washington Post
ABC
NPR
BBC and Reuters are about as neutral as you can get. NPR definitely leans left, but I find it reliable (same with WSJ which leans right but can be counted on).
@filmfann The Post is owned by Jeff Bezos & trump can’t stand him because he has MORE money than trump. So, now TWP is on the fake news list big time!!! Personally, I like that one, but I never quote from it.
BBC
CBC
PBS, seem to stay relatively neutral and unbiased.
Yup. There’s about 3 of them. Why go anywhere else?
I would have said the BBC but I’m not so sure anymore.
It’s hard to be sure of any impartiality, anymore.
I suggested NPR, because they are not sponsored by anything, but private donations. However, who is to say, that someone could donate a large sum of money, and then have a say, in what gets broadcasted?
