I wonder around at 3AM, all the time. I run into issues, and and am often stopped the cops. I often visit my dog’s grave, around that time.

I can’t sat that “something good,” happens, around that time. But there are people like me, who mean no harm, walking around…

For me, back in the day, it was DENNY’S TIME!! French toast and a gallon of milk. Replace all the calories I blazed off dancing. Yum.

@Dutchess_III I had a friend get thrown out of a Denny’s at 3 in the morning. I didn’t think it was possible to get thrown out of a Denny’s but he managed it. He put his eggs on his head and a strip of bacon over each ear and then walked around to the other tables saying “I lost my breakfast. Can you help me find it?” The management didn’t see the humor.

@seawulf I like your friend.

A lot of good creative work, as it’s so quiet and free of distactions.
Traffic-free driving.
Nocturnal animal fun.
Dreaming.
Insomniacs handing out electronically.
People gaming through the night.
Practically all of my college essays were being written for the next day.
Amorous relations.
Communicating with people in other time zones.
Pranks.
Night club stuff.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Sleeping tops that list!

anniereborn's avatar

@Dutchess_lll I can fall asleep and nap any time of the day/night I want. Those other things, not so much.

seawulf575's avatar

@Dutchess_lll Of course everyone is drunk at 3 am in Denny’s. That’s why getting thrown out was such an impressive achievement!

There are drunks and obnoxious drunks. Back in the 80s I was in an IHOP at 4AM when an inebriated customer stood up whipped out his equipment, dumped the ice from his water glass on the floor, inserted his equipment in the glass, and overfilled the glass with urine which ran down the sides onto the floor. There were 2 young waitresses witnessing this. One stood fixated, the second snatched a plate from a table and slammed the guy full in the face with a rage that was frightening. The glass and its contents went flying as the drunk was propelled backwards with his equipment waving. I can’t drive past an IHOP without thinking back on that morning.

One unforgettable great thing that took place around 3 am for me was in 1994 —— when a cable channel aired the 1966 film “A Man and a Woman”’with Aimee and Trigninant.

It was unbelievably mesmerizing and intoxicating to see at 3 am. Became my top favorite romantic film of all time. Only those who connected with this art piece would know why.

This film to this day makes me fantasize about shooting something using actual film rolls.

They closed off that end of the restaurant and shuffled the customers who hadn’t fled to the opposite side of the place and fed us all for free.

3 AM is the ideal time to shop at the one remaining 24 hour safeway for groceries. I can drive there in less than 6 minutes at that time of night, park right at the door and rarely is there another customer ahead if me. No checkout line.

Mimi. Wanda’s ashes, are buried at a dog park. There’s typically nobody there, at this time. It gives us privacy, and allows me to cry all I need to. She was used to me being up, arond that time. So it’s makes as much sense, as it can….
