I really don’t like them at all.

Not everyone can pull it off but on the right person its sexy imo.

Err, I don’t care for a gentleman’s bottom as I don’t swing that way dear boy!

Darth_Algar's avatar

As I call it, the twat knot.

I’m follicly challenged and when I don’t have time to properly prepare my comb-over, I just tie my eyebrows into a bun. So convenient for those in a hurry moments.

josie's avatar

To each his own of course.

But I have already told my friends to shoot me if I ever show up anywhere, including a costume party, with that.

They promised they would.

johnpowell's avatar

If you have one you are probably a barista. And it is a great hairstyle for a person working in the food service industry.

@josie

You have true friends. Cherish them.

josie's avatar

@johnpowell is right!
As a statistical matter I see it most often behind the counter at Starbucks.

And they never rinse out my coffee cup until I tell them they are supposed to, then they do it like it’s a problem.

All the other Starbucks crew, always washes out your coffee cup. ( you get a discount for bringing your own cup. The standard is they rinse it before filling it).

But like I said To each his own

I like short hair on a man so I don’t find man-buns/long hair attractive, but to each his own

JLeslie's avatar

I don’t find them attractive, especially if it’s smack on the top of the head. I don’t find a bun on top of a female’s head attractive either though. A bun right on top is completely unsexy to me.

elbanditoroso's avatar

Dumb looking. Sort of a “look at me I’m special” cry for help.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Well I am super glad I am not the only one that thinks they look extra ridiculous .
If I had a teen age son that came home sporting that look I would chop it off with hedge trimmers.

Yellowdog's avatar

I personally would never do it. But it goes with the Barista / Artsy Millennial image. It means you were born after Generation X. After 1981

kritiper's avatar

I always thought they looked pretty stupid.

johnpowell's avatar

I got super high on the weed in high school and bleached my hair and then did purple zebra stripes. So things happen…

jca2's avatar

I think they look stupid but I understand some people might be trying to look a certain way (cool, trendy?).

I agree with @JLeslie that when a female wears a bun right on top of her head it’s not a good look, either.

ucme's avatar

I shave my head so I guess I might be able to muster a man crumb.

raum's avatar

I think they look kind of funny when they’re on top of their heads.

But if you have long hair, you’ve got to tie it back somehow. Ponytail or bun, I don’t really care how they do it.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@raum Man with a ponytail is far more acceptable (to me) than with a bun.

raum's avatar

Because you’re used to seeing it more?

JLeslie's avatar

Is a man bun defined as being on top of the head? Or, is it any bun worn by a man?

KNOWITALL's avatar

@elbanditoroso Ponytails seem more hippy to me than a nice man bun.

Yellowdog's avatar

Or you could just pin a cinnamin roll or honeybun to your scalp.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@KNOWITALL true. And that belies my age and outlook.
