What is your favorite brand of coffee that you brew at home?

I used to go to Starbucks every single day of my life. But that stuff is expensive so I got a coffee maker, and it’s already paid for itself, and I still go to Starbucks on Sundays.
I’m looking for the best brand of coffee I can brew at home.

Preferred is Seattle’s Best, next up is Peet’s.
I don’t drink coffee, but I usually buy the following for my husband:
Starbucks Colombian or Italian roast or French roast.
Maxwell House Columbian or intense bold.
Dunkin Donuts original.
I buy coffee almost always on sale, so that dictates which of the above I purchase. The Maxwell House is much cheaper anyway, and we reuse the plastic container. I guess my husband prefers it to the bags the other coffees come in. I’m not sure why.
Once in a while he buys an espresso that comes in a block. He makes it like regular coffee. We find it very cheap sometimes. Very cheap. It might be a Latin American brand? I could find out. We see it in the Hispanic markets, but we often find it in the regular supermarkets also.
At my husband’s new job he said the coffee is really good. It’s Caribou brand. He was told that a while back the company did a taste test and the employees voted for which coffee they liked best, and that was the winner.
I don’t drink coffee, but my brother was a Starbucks worshiper for a good while. After he retired, he was too lazy to drive to Starbucks & said the price became cost prohibitive on his retirement income. He decided, much like you, to make his at home. He likes his coffee strong & he tried & liked a blend called Death Wish. He found it on Amazon. On the days he wants something a little bit milder, he mixes what he calls his “sissy blend” with the Death Wish so he has what he considers the PERFECT cup of coffee!!! He says he gets a great cup of iced coffee out of it as well.
Nespresso Hazelino
I pour it over ice and add milk.
Keurig K cups. Whatever brand is cheapest. I am not a coffee snob.
Find a local roaster and buy in bulk. Soooo much better.
Graffeo Roasting Company Dark Roast. It is expensive, but the best coffee available in the United States. I grind at home and use a drip coffee maker.
Second favorite is Peet’s Major Dickason’s Blend.
If I really want to spoil myself, I’ll order some Lobster Butter Love from Roo’s Roast in Ann Arbor. Not cheap. It’s worth trying if you ever happen to be in Ann Arbor, or if you want to roll-the-dice on an expensive online order based on a recommendation from an anonymous guy on the internet.
Lately, I get mine at a little market that sells their own brand so my answer is not helpful at all.
I’d try some off-brand you’ve never heard of before and report back.
@JLeslie: I think that is Café Bustelo that comes in the yellow brick. I get some for a friend at work for his birthday, like a joke LOL.
The one I drink at home is Kirkland Pacific Dark which is K-cups, (Costco Brand is what Kirkland is). It’s got a good dark flavor.
Cameron’s Coffee or Door County Coffee. Highlander Grogg is my favorite flavor.
Tim Hortons, when I have it. I try to buy six cans when I am near a Tim’s. Sometimes I can find it in bags at a local store. If we’re out of Tim’s, I get Folgers or Maxwell House.
I should add that the Costco coffee (Kirkland brand) is organic. It’s called “Pacific Bold” not “Pacific Dark” as I put above. They also have “Breakfast blend” and decaf. All organic. $35 for 120 K-cups.
