Not a whole lot.
The Tudors. Some of Downton Abbey. Some of The Vikings.
I watched the Tudors as well.
The Vikings sounds interesting.
Vikings is one of my favorite shows. The finale season starts in a few weeks.
The question for me is, what do I not binge?
Some of my other favorites are Handmaids Tale, Supernatural, Shameless, and just about any cooking show or contest on Food Network.
@Jonsblond -I might have to check The Vikings show out.Is it a lot of sexy beasts with helmets on?
I believe I should see this
^ No helmets but lots of sexiness!
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Arrested Development
Started binge watching Stranger Things but quit after episode 1
@rebbel I heard Breaking Bad was good.
I didn’t last through Game of Thrones.
I don’t last through a lot of shows/movies but when I do find one I like, I can watch it many times over.
Shameless and the Punisher. Good ol’ sit around the TV family watching.
Not sure what, exactly constitutes “binge” watching. But I guess I’d say The Expanse. Most shows I don’t watch more than a couple of episodes in one sitting. I’ve watched three of that one a time or two.
@Vignette -William H Macy show? I heard of that one.
The Punisher I have not.He seems bitchy.
@Darth_Algar I am close to being the same way. I usually read while a program is on.
@lucillelucillelucille Yes on Macy and Shameless. The show used to star Emmy Rossum as the sister Fiona who was a wisecracking brunette hottie who is no longer on the show. The Punisher is a Marvel Comics show series that has smoking and drinking shirtless badasses beating the shit out of each other solving the crimes of a sleazy borough in NYC. If you like sweat, blood and missing teeth this is the show for you.
@Vignette I watch forensic shows so I get enough of that.I need a good laugh, dammit!:)
A great (if scary and hard to watch) show on Netflix called Mindhunter.
Also, Midsommer Murders, a British show.
I used to binge watch another Netflix show called Travelers with Eric McCormick. that was very good.
@marinelife Hey! :)
Mindhunter might be the one I will try out.I just read it was based on a true crime book.
I was aware of the second one but not the other you’ve listed.
@Vignette Maybe…
@marinelife – My hub calls all the forensic shows “How To’s” & has questioned my interest in them.lol
@janbb -That one sounds interesting as well.
@marinelife
Eh, not sure I’d exactly say that Frank Castle solves crime.
Only two
Breaking Bad
Poldark
@josie Many seem to like BB.
I have seen the ads for Poldark.
It may be easier to list what I haven’t binged.
@Coolhandluke -I’d love something as funny as The Office or as intriguing as forensics.
It doesn’t get any better than The Office. Fuuuur reaalz
I have both seasons of Dead Like Me. I watch them as part of my Halloween viewing.
House
Monk
Bones
Roseanne
Wishing for Courtship Of Eddie’s Father to be run on a retro channel.
@Patty_Melt -People let me tell you ‘bout my best frieeeeenndd…
Bates Motel
Broadchurch
Westworld
Ripping Yarns I always recommend for a great comedy option.
It was made by Michael Palin & Terry Jones of Python fame & is consistently hilarious.
One episode is about posh private schools & how pupils attempting escape were chased down by the school leopard & a bully was appointed by his peers who outranked even the headmaster.
@ucme -Westworld was an odd movie
I might have to try that one out.(RY)
All of the BBC dramas on Netflix as well as Mad Men, most of the documentary series on Netflix, Chicago Hope (one of the best that I can no longer find), Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Frazier, and a few others. I don’t watch television but enjoy watching some of the series on Netflix. I would never ever watch anything one episode per week. That kind of patience left me long ago. Way before streaming came along. ;)
@Sagacious I started watching Frasier on Netflix at night while I was recuperating. Very enjoyable and entertaining even though I had seen some of them on broadcast years ago.
@janbb I loved it and watched all of them twice. I had never seen it way back when. I was/am still a little shocked that it was broadcast in prime time slots. Very intelligent and enjoyable humor but not for children so much. even though most of that probably went right over the little ones’ heads.
Is binging defined by watching episode after episode in one sitting? Then not really at all. I actually think something is lost by watching it like that, as one misses the anticipation factor. Even if I’m watching a show I haven’t seen from the beginning, I like to watch one episode per sitting.
@Lonelyheart807 -Pretty much defined as that except I couldn’t last an entire series in one sitting.
@Darth Bingeing, at least for me, is starting a series after it’s been out for a few years, then watching several episodes each week until I’m caught up with everyone else. It took me a year to watch 12 seasons of Supernatural until I caught up with everyone else. That was a lot of bingeing!
I binged Walking Dead. But binged it at night while the kids were sleeping, so I watched it with subtitles because I didn’t want to wake them.
I think I was several seasons in until I started watching it with the volume on. And I was like “Oh, that’s what Rick sounds like.” Also reading “squelching sound” isn’t quite the same.
Would one of you longtimers tell me if I will get an activity notification if someone responds with my name @sagacious even though I am no longer officially following the thread. Thanks!!!
No, you don’t get a notification for an @. Only for activity on a thread that you are following.
We’ve discussed this in Meta before. Would be nice if it worked that way.
