Underwater digital cameras?
Anyone have one or know great brands and prices? We don’t scuba dive as of it, so nothing deep sea is needed.

you can get disposable cameras that have waterproof cases. I’m not sure what kind of camera you have, but I have a point and shoot canon camera, and it’s got an underwater setting and in the manual it says you can get a special case from canon that can be used 3m (i think) underwater. The case was like $100 though
So I guess it depends if your gonna use it lots or it’s a one time thing, or how much money you have.
I always feel weird about those cases.
I remember hearing about Pentax’s line of actual underwater digicams. The Optio W60 is the newest, while the W30 is cheaper. One of those might be your best bet.
If you trust that it’ll work, you can stick a regular pocket digital inside two condoms tied with knots and glued with waterproof rubber cement. Not a joke, and I think it’s a Bavy Seal method to waterproof stuff. If the condom is stretched properly, the pics still come out great. Poke around the Internet for an/the instructional video.
My sister has a great Pentax W20 which takes very good photo’s underwater
A few weeks ago I got the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW digital camera. It is waterproof to 30 feet, crushproof to 250 pounds and freeze proof. It takes awesome underwater pictures. It takes decent pictures all around. The pictures taken at night are really good. It is a small camera, and you can take it everywhere and not have to worry about breaking it. I have a Canon Rebel, and I don’t like to take it on the beach, unless it is for a scheduled photo. I am always very leery about breaking it, because it was expensive. The Olympus runs about 350, and the Olympus card was another 45 dollars. I really like this camera. It is a 10.1 mega pixel camera. The picture quality is not as good as my Canon or my daughter’s Canon Powershot, but it is still pretty darn good.
