Maybe you’re fine with both.
Feel free to elaborate. What influences your preference?

Either one as long as it’s well written.
Good fiction is good fiction.
I love the journal entries from Drizzt Du’urden from the Forgotten Realms series. They start with the Dark Elf trilogy. Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn.
I guess I don’t have a preference when reading. It’s all good to me. When I write fiction, I prefer to write in first person. It’s easier and I’ve been more satisfied with what I’ve written in 1st than in 3rd.
Depends on the writer and style. Usually I prefered descriptive prose (not first person), but there are exceptions.
Third person.
First person reeks of self insert.
