Yes, Absolutely. Bring it on.
It makes me instantly suspicious…
I know I am not good looking. So if someone says “Hey Good Looking” to me, either they are lying, or they want something from me, or both.
Yes. Compliment my appearance or my intelligence and I’m putty in your hands. :)
I played this for my dog, now he’s in the kitchen cooking steak
Yes, I’m shallow but happy!
@SEKA -Thanks! My cats & dog all come into the room when I play her music :)
@ucme Nowt wrong with that
Did I use “nowt” right?
Do you often say that word?
@ucme You lookin’ sexxxy as a Secret Santa
Sometimes, depends on who and the context.
Like @kritiper, I also get a tad suspicious, or take a double-take at who’s saying things like that.
*bats eyelashes and curtsies
Why thank ya, mam! I guess I am.
Yes! I just never know how to respond.
I’m pretty good at identifying bullchit but sure, I enjoy being flattered like everyone else.
Since my best feature is my feet <blushes at complimenting myself > if someone compliments my feet, I know it’s sincere. If they compliment anything else, I don’t believe them.
@chyna -You’re sweet
sing along with that at work….in his voice XD
Nonsense, @chyna, I have met you in person, you’re totes adorbs !!!
It’s not flattery if it’s fact!
@SEKA Aren’t I just, the secret is, what am I wearing below that shot? :D
@lucillelucillelucille I had to dash out earlier & feel your response deserves a better reply.
I am impressed you knew of nowt & got the meaning too.
It’s a word used all the time here in the north, scotland too I believe & I use it frequently, although not so much here because my grammar would be modded probably.
@ucme -With a little bit o’ bloomin’ luck they won’t.
@lucillelucillelucille I like my bread wi nowt tekken owt!
Those trousers you linked to @SEKA look like what my grandma put the teapot on…outstanding fashion statement!
Not at all. I either don’t hear it or assume they just want something from me.
I know. My mother fucked me up.
Only when someone else tells me that someone else complimented my cooking, or really enjoyed my company, or thought I was clever or interesting. I feel awkward when someone compliments me in person. Some people are just too easy with their flattery and flatter everyone, and the motive is usually to be liked or fish for compliments, and so its not sincere. And some people rarely flatter but can make it feel awkward. Especially if you feel it wasn’t worthy of a compliment. Like at thanksgiving I met some new friends of my daughter. She said they really like my husband and myself and kept going on and on about different things they likes about us. We had fun joking around and even touched on some sensitive subjects, like faith. What it really came down too was how different we were from his family but they liked that we are open minded. It seems his folks are the kind to not like their ideas challenged. So I liked that.
But had they said it to my face, I may have felt slightly uncomfortable. Compliments always make me feel like I was under a microscope.
@Pandora -You must have made a great impression on them :)
@lucillelucillelucille Are you trying to flatter me? LOL His parents are Mormon and he is no longer Mormon. Apparently family feels his marriage to an outsider is a stain and an insult to their family and faith.
@josie testing,testing,testing
@Pandora I’d like to hear more about that sometime. Religion interests me.
