What did you like most in your life? A "sorry" or a "thank you"?

They are both good as you can learn a lot about a person.

A “By the love of god, please show mercy!”

I appreciate sincere apologies more. Yet I’d rather have a thank you if that means I don’t have to deal with what precedes an apology.

A “sorry” is for something someone did that was hurtful so I’ll take a thank you any day of the week.

Thank you usually comes from a conscious mistake.
I prefer a thank you.

Lots of people consider sorry a free pass, so thankyou seems more sincere to me.

I’m a very giving person & so a thank you means a lot as I must have touched someone in some way.

I understand that the awkward wording of your questions results from the gymnastics involved with translation. But this one is another where I can only guess at the.meaning, particularly with regard to whether thankyou or sorry are received or given. And like? How about “which is more satisfying?” Or “which would you prefer?”

I am terrible at receiving them, but a sincere “thank you” is very nice.

I vote for “thank you.”

“Sorry” means that the person’s done something unfortunate, perhaps hurt or disappointed me. “Thank you” means that I’ve done something right.

I don’t care for either. I am not much of a people’s personal. A sorry woul mean I had got involved in some kind of argument/sticky situation and a thank you that I am owed something. I want neither situation.

A sincere “I am sorry” is important to me.
