I can do 3 floors on the stairs. I am a lazy wimp.
Up. I can do pretty unlimited down.
I always take the stairs, up or down.
It must vary with the ease and time involved with either. If the elevator is beside the stairs and 50 people are waiting for it….
I used to always take the stairs over the elevator. A few at a time-much faster that way.
Now, it’s the opposite and I take the elevator if available.
Before arthritis attacked my knees I wouldn’t even look at an elevator wouldn’t even care ten flights or more now I take the damn elevator, but so would you if your knees were in as much pain as mine.
I walk the stairs when I have the time and not in a hurry.
Depends. I usually would prefer the stairs, especially going down. When I lived on the 20th floor, I only went up the stairs a few times. Once was during a power outage…
When I lived on the eighth floor in the dorms, I always took the stairs because the elevator was always packed.
Now I almost always take the elevator when possible. I hate having the kids use the handrails. Apparently I’m a huge germaphobe.
Stairs, both ways. Two steps at a time going up. Up to three floors.

When I go to my football team’s home games we sit in the East stand upper tier. There are 8 flights of winding stairs to scale, constantly turning left.
They make me slightly dizzy, but that’s all.
If I take the elevator in the mall, I always wish it would go faster, you stand there like a loon waiting to walk again, going down them, I walk anyway…quicker that way.
I take the stairs. I park on the top floor of my building which is five flights and walk up and down.
It depends on my mood and the convenience of taking the stairs. If more than 3 flights, I will take the elevator. I am also more likely to take the stairs going up, as I look at it as a form of exercise.
My disability has prevented me from doing a lot of things, but I can still push myself into taking the stairs. I can make it 5 or 6 flights before having to take a break so I can go further!!!
I use the stairs if four floors or less.
I’m claustrophobic and I hate elevators. Luckily there are few if any highrise buildings in my area. But it’s stairs for me. Dean Martin hated elevators too. He once said “Those things are coffins”. I agree.
