Can a cavity cause an earache?

I guess it could especially if the tooth was a molar.

Yes, if infected, as well as swelling in the jaw if you let it go too long.

Yes, a top molar that is abscessed or has a cavity with infection can certainly cause ear pain.

Yes, it could. If the cavity is causing pain, it can radiate up into a nerve that leads to the ear canal. A sinus infection can also cause a toothache. So, I’m guessing that an earache could also cause a tooth to be painful and feel like it has a cavity. Go to a doctor or dentist so you can get some relief

@SEKA I get a cleaning on Friday 13th tomorrow and fillings on the 16th.

@RedDeerGuy1 Hope all goes well for you!!! When you go in for your cleaning, ask the dentist or whoever is working on you, IF they think an earache can come from a cavity…logically speaking.

Probably 25 years ago, I had a severe abcess & it made me feel as though I had an earache. My abcess was a lot more severe than a cavity though; but logically speaking, I see how itcould. @SEKA was correct…you do need to speak with your dentist or at a minimum an assistant!!!
