If Boris Johnson wins tonight (as expected) how long do you think it will be before there is a no-confidence vote against him in Parliament?

If he wins, and Brexit actually occurs, how long will Boris have before Labor tries to get him out?

No offense, but my concerns are more over our impeachment lite so I’ve not had the time to worry about the plight of Johnson. Don’t know enough to venture into making a comment

About six weeks. I give him until the end of January.

The no confidence will come out of left field, not through anything from Corbyn and Labour. Either discarding Northern Ireland, or a Scottish Independence movement passing, something that will end the UK and revert back to jolly old England, and take a few crosses off the Union Jack.

Firstly, no one wins tonight!
Polling stations close at 10pm & the first result, usually Sunderland in the north east, isn’t expected until after midnight.
By the time all votes across the country are counted, including postal votes, you’re looking at some time early in the morning for a clear indicator of who won, maybe around 7am.

As for Boris, if he wins with a small but increased majority, he will get Brexit over the line & then be bulletproof, at least in the short term & certainly from Labour who quite frankly are a lame duck.

@ucme and if Boris doesn’t win… what happens?

Then we have a hung parliament where no party has overall control & so a coalition is formed.
Labour would run with SNP (Scottish National Party) which would be a chaotic shambles of a mess.
The Conservatives would probably jump into bed again with the Ulster Democrats, more shenanigans.
Ultimately, unless Boris gets his predicted overall majority & subsequent control of the house, we’re pretty much fucked!!

Exit polls confirm a huge win for Boris with a strong majority.
No doubt this was a resounding success for those of us who voted leave.
Brexit is now finally certain HOORAH!

@ucme Not arguing but I’m curious as to what you see are the advantages of Brexit.

ucme's avatar

@janbb I mean, I could be here all day, but I’ll be brief.
Freedom to trade with whoever we want on our own terms.
Economy, will boom without the outrageous constraints of funding an unelected, beaurocratic, corrupt & self serving bunch of greedy sycophants.
Enough?
