What are you looking forward to?

Asked by JLeslie (65789points) December 13th, 2019 from iPhone

What’s coming up in the near future that you’re excited about?

I asked this question not only to hear what you jellies have planned, but also because I wanted to tell the collective I’m so excited about my husband coming home soon! A week more, I can’t wait.

The day when people realize that there are no good used affordable electric cars.
(And because of that, the electric cars that people try to trade in will have no resale value except as scrap!)

I’m glad your husband is coming home! Is this for good, now? What a lovely holiday gift!

I look forward to getting together with friends more often during the last half of December, all the pretty decorations and good cheer.

@canidmajor No, he took a job in Nashville, so he’s in Nashville most of the time.

canidmajor's avatar

Well, I’m glad he’ll be home for a bit, then. :-)

Normally I like the rain. But I just dropped 6+ grand on woodworking equipment and the humidity is being a problem. I just glued up 70 bucks worth of hard maple and walnut. Ran it through the drum sander, perfect flat beautiful board. Then I brought it in the house.

As it dried it got twisted and the joints pulled apart. Where my tools are is essentially outside except with a aluminum roof to block the rain. Unless we just rebuild the entire garage humidity will always be a problem. A heater or de-humidifier out there would be pissing electricity into the wind.

So I am waiting for summer to roll around. I have tons of shit like a desk, tv stand, bookcases, little kitchen thing that I want to make.

But I am not going to buy lumber if it just breaks apart once I move it indoors.

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Dutchess_III Do you take all of them at once? How many are there?

Dutchess_III's avatar

In this case I’m taking my son’s 4.

I’m going to try my hand at making my own watercolors using photochromic pigment!

Bought some binder and a muller from this awesome store in San Francisco.

Christmas. And next year for summertime, as our swimming pool will be back open,

Dutchess_III's avatar

Well, my Christmas shopping has been cancelled. :( 4 year old had a rough day at school last week and they’re concerned that I can’t handle him (ha!) that he’ll run away from me. He won’t run away from me.

First Mom said I could take only the older two, which would leave the 4 year old and the 6 year old out. No way in hell am I leaving any kid out, so I just cancelled. She counter offered with I can take 3 of them, and just leave the 4 year old out.
I can see such an event really helping whatever behavior problems he’s having this week.

Child leashes are really cheap.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I don’t need a child leash. The kids all behave around me.
