What is the name of exostosis that is under the gums in humans?

Also how does one tell if it is malignant or benign?

Most cases it is a bony growth ! Not a tumor.

Exostosis is often the result of some trauma or injury to the gums and bones underneath. Exostosis of the mouth or jaw is called buccal exostosis.
