Aside from teak or mahogany, what wood species works well for surfaces that could come into contact with water?

When I was growing up, Black Cherry Wood was all the rage.I don’t remember the specifics of it coming in contact with water, but I can guarantee you that it handled it well…my dad was OCD & went off any time he saw a water circle.
The link says to not use it as outdoor furniture where it sits out in the elements, but a glass leaving a ring shouldn’t be a problem.
Teak is the go to in my experience.
You can get fake wood made from plastic and other materials that looks really wood like now.
