If the area you live in on a map was scratch and sniff, what would your area smell like?
It seems I’m hung up on smells lately.

Damp green woods and earth, the decay and dust and guano of a thousand caves.
The smell is more like a feeling in your nose. It’s hot and humid, but not moldy. Some people seem to use the term humid or damp synonymously with moldy, and I don’t mean moldy.
When I’m in my state one of the things that is familiar is the smell. It smells like home. I don’t know if you want us to share where we live? Most people know I live in Florida. When I return to New York City or NY state it smells like childhood. NYS outside of the city especially smells like childhood vacations and summer to me.
There isn’t much of any floral or grassy scents, even though we are green and blooming almost all year. Even fresh cut grass barely has a smell of any.
My area, occasionally, smells yeasty.
@stanleybmanly Does your fog have a smell or is that smog? lol, seriously, our fog just smells like humidity/rain, I suppose.
“My area, occasionally, smells yeasty.”

Make that” My residential area, occasionally, smells yeasty.”
A combination of eucalyptus, oak, and grass.
@josie-What does that smell like?
Freshly baked bread & spicy vegan food.
Both are a stones throw away from my front door.
Quiet, suburban desperation and abandoned dreams.
Damp earth and wood.
@rebbel, I’m glad you cleared that up.
See what I did there? Lol
A mix of great food, great beer and freshwater lakes.
Where I am now would smell like, a mixture of Italian herbs, vehicle exhaust and bad vibes whatever that may be….My Hometown would smell like rain, a mixture of fresh fruits, weed and hints of sweet sandalwood.
@Coolhandluke Somewhere that’s foreign to negativity, that’s peaceful and that has a very loving atmosphere!! Sounds like Utopia to me!
