A beautiful, hand carved wooden armchair with a brocade seat, referred to as a Barcelona Chair by my family (I don’t know anything about it, and would love some info); my great-grandmother’s vanity set which includes a mirror, brush, and button hook; some of my books – lovely old encyclopedias and school books that I pick up for next to nothing at barn sales and such.
Couple of first-editions, and some old firearms and cameras. I actually don’t think the show would be interested in them as much as I am.
Well I have lots of antiques to choose from so that’s a tough choice, I could take my miniature ivory portraits of Babur (founder of the Mughal dynasty in 1483) and the other portrait is a woman I haven’t been able to find much info about her but “Rupa mah” is written on the back of it…..they were painted sometime in the begining of the 1800’s. I originally had 4 but I sold 2 of them on eBay for $600.
I use to work at an antique auction and one night a lady bought a table lot (all the stuff that fits on a 6ft table sold as 1 lot) anyways she bought a table lot of vintage luggage and a few of the traincases were locked and we had no keys so she asked me if I wanted them. When I got home I picked the locks and inside one of the cases, hidden in the lining, was the 4 miniature portraits! Probably the most random thing I have ever found….
