My friend told me that her mistake was buying her ex a bottle of “Escape” cologne and a pair of running shoes for Christmas.

Not super amusing but my first boyfriend broke up with me by texting me saying “sorry, but this number is no longer in service” about 3–4 hours after I texted him. I texted “what?” after that and tried to call and it definitely was in service… I didn’t hear from him until a year and a half later.
