Does a sports or an entertainment agent get paid up front?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33549points) December 30th, 2019

Let’s say you’re a baseball or football player and you sign a contract for $100 million for four years.

Does your agent (who negotiated the deal) get his/her percent up front, when the deal is signed? Or does the agent get paid per year?

They take their percentage as the player/actor gets paid.
