What is the tastiest fish?
My vote goes to tilefish but I try to limit my mercury intake…

There are so many fishes that I’ve not tasted. It’s boring but my personal favorite is tuna sashimi or lightly seared tuna. I’m sure there are much better options out there that I’ve never tried though.
I like freshwater trout, crappy, bluegill, and my personal favorite, walleye.
@KNOWITALL -I had walleye last week and yep, it is very good.
We get Rockfish in the Chesapeake Bay this time of year. They’re particularly delicious. I recommend trying it if you see it on a menu.
@KNOWITALL -It was baked and served with tartar sauce that did not taste like dill, which made me happy. There was also yellow perch on the menu which is also delicious.
Sardines, and there is almost no mercury in them.
If mercury is not a concern I really love grouper.
Chilean sea bass is my favorite, but it is endangered, so I don’t have it anymore.
@2davidc8 “Chilean sea bass is my favorite, but it is endangered, so I don’t have it anymore.”
It’s not even a real sea bass. It’s actually the Patagonian toothfish.
Salmon in my opinion, but I don’t believe I have ever had or heard of tilefish.
My favorites are:
Dover sole
Rainbow Trout
Salmon
I like red snapper and grouper. I rarely eat fish and refuse to even see it raw. Someone else has to prepare it and not in my house. I usually order shrimp when we go to the fish house. I was allergic to it for many years and it seems to have just disappeared, so I now order shrimp when we go to our great seafood joint.
@nightwolf5-One of the reasons they taste so good:
Their diet of crab and shrimp, etc. give them a firm but tender, white meat with a delicate sweet flavor. Extra lean fish.
“If you love lobster, you’ll like tilefish.”
I have it when I travel down south.
One time Rick and I wound up at Roaring River in Missouri. It’s a trout farm. We fished. I caught nothing. Rick caught two trout. We gutted them, rinsed them, put some salt on them and some lemon wedges, wrapped them in foil and threw them on the grill. Man, that was some good eatens!
My ex and I went salmon fishing in Oregon one year. We each caught our limit first…It was 2 or 3, I forget…out of everyone on that charter boat.
We put them in dry ice and brought them back to Kansas, invited some friends over and had salmon on the grill. It was some good eatens!
They need to come up with new names for some of these fish. “Tile” fish just sounds…grouty.
