Just in, offical report by our Prime Minister of Canada states that Ukrainian International Airlines flight was Shot down by intentional or unintentional reasons by Iranian surface air missiles , what is your verdict on this ?.

if it was intentional, I don’t know what they hoped to gain.

They were probably shooting off missiles and clueless as to how to use the missile launcher, and voila.

It’s certainly in the realm of possibility.

One scenario that seems possible is that there was disorganization/miscommunication/misidentification of the commercial flight as being an American military plane attacking and the Iranian military shot it down in a panic, thinking they were defending the country. I have no evidence that this is what happened, but it’s the kind of thing that can happen when the tension between nations is at a boiling point. Brinksmanship is a very dangerous game.

I agree with ^^ @Caravanfan I don’t see the motivation to shoot it down what could they possibly hope to gain by doing so.
Maybe the Yankees shot it down realized they fucked up and are trying to blame Iran for it, makes about as much sense as Iran shooting it down.

He has now agreed it was unintentional. I agree with that. I read an article about all of the planes that have been shot down unintentionally (they say) when earth dwellers were arguing with guns. There have been a lot of them.

The only thing that makes me wonder is if it is true, as we are saying, that that the plane did not respond to radio warnings about their location.

Intentional, but perhaps misidentified it. Or they didnt respond.

Defending their country is understandable.

I think probably a nervous anti-aircraft crew thought they found an American plane inbound to attack.

I also feel Trudeau is a wimp who fears trump and he will say anything he feels he needs to say so trump doesn’t attack Canada like he has China, Mexico, and Iran. Therefore, I don’t see Trudeau as a credible source of information
