LMAO! Blue crabs, are assholes. They pinch me, all the time, if I am just wading in shallow water. I’ve got them in my boat before too. Accidentally, reeled them in. They’re the reason I wear shoes, in my canoe. I’ve had to kick them away from me, many times. I have to get them far enough away from me, to use my paddle to keep them at bay. Then I have to find land, and get them out. You can’t grab them with a net, or they get all tangled up. I don’t want to hurt them. I have spent who knows how much time, trying to get them off of my boat. When they grab something, they hold on too. It hurts like crazy. One got me by my toe once. Fucker wouldn’t let go…
I fish with China Backs (fiddler crabs,) when I am fishing for Sheepshead. Those guys, will get you too…
Never had a crab pull a knife on me though. Lol…
I have eaten plenty of Blue crabs too. So. I guess I have it coming…
The video is great. You can’t see them, because they burry themselves, in the sand.
People in my area, put out crab traps, and eat them all the time.
They’re everywhere, in our rivers, and marshes here…
I catch them accidentally, a lot. You think you have a fish on the line, then surprise! It’s a cranky little Blue crab…
I don’t bother to keep them. You need a bunch, to get a meal. I need like 7… At least.
But. I usually get about 2, each fishing trip… Sometimes, I’ll put one in my cooler, just to observe it. They’re amazing little creatures… Very interesting…
Slightly off topic. I was looking for a guy, who beat his wife, one night. I fought with him briefly, and he ran away and jumped into a sewer ditch. He was swimming underwater, to try to avoid me. I could see his white shirt easily, as I walked along the ditch. (He was an idiot.)
I was surprised to see lots of red eyes, in the ditch. After we got him, I went back to the ditch.
When I shinned my light down there, I realized that there were hundreds of crawfish. Before that, I didn’t know that they lived in such a cold place. Not that SC, is cold. But. I thought they only lived in warmer water. This was in February. But. There they were. Thriving, in 35° weather…
Apparently, they can live in heroine needle, sewage ditches, and endure the cold…Who would have thought?
