Billie Eilish was chosen to perform the theme song for the new James Bond movie No Time To Die. It’s a beautiful song, but not what I think of when it comes to James Bond. If you’ve listened to the song, what are your thoughts?

I’m blown away. I think it’s beautiful.
I agree that it is beautiful…Still, when I think of James Bond, I think of the opening of Live & Let Die which was a mega production or Goldfinger which was also a huge number!!! That does NOT take anything away from the beautiful job that Eilish has done. For me, Bond as always meant being a little bit over the top. I guess that like many things in my life, the times they are a changing!!!
@LadyMarissa I think the trend nowadays is to portray Bond as a wounded tragic hero instead of a cool invincible superman like the old day, hence the difference you see. You may not like it because that isn’t the Bond you know, but personally I like this change.
As for the music, I think it’s beautiful. It isn’t as intense as Skyfall, but Skyfall is meant to be an epic show about the destruction of everything. This song has more of a film-noir feel. I suspect that this new movie is going to be about some sort of demon from the past. That’s my type of film though :D
It’s a good song, and it echoes the other Craig Bond themes, but it’s quite soft and builds slowly, so much that it’s not much like a main Bond theme. It certainly doesn’t get me revved up for some spy action.
(Especially not after being so unhappy with Spectre.)
@Zaku a bit off-topic, but I’m currently working on a story about a Bond-like spy. The twist is that the spy is just a persona of a writer, and the “enemies” he fights is the manifestation of his personal struggle. That songs could be perfect for my story :D
I agree.
It doesn’t seem very Bond-like.
She sings with that voice affectation that bugs the hell out of me.I need to ask a q about that as there has got to be a name for it.
I skipped around the song because of it, much like avoiding a bee.lol
I was confused while listening to it as I found it to be a beautiful song that I really didn’t care for, so I went through a lot of strange emotions. She sang the song well, but I’m not sure I like the song. None of this has to do with Billie’s performance but the song as written
SEKA You’re gonna make me listen to the whole thing. !
#$ lol
The beginning reminded me of “The Sound of Silence”-Simon and Garfunkle.
Then I heard her say “fow” away.—I can’t do it! I can’t ! :D
@lucillelucillelucille Stay within your comfort zone lady. You’re more than welcome to classify it as a song you love to hate. Just because I think Billie did a beautiful job with the song, I’m still teetering on disliking the song itself
Do It Lucillex3! You can do it! Just ONE time, listen to it all the way through.
^ I’ve never seen that wicked side of you before.
I’ve decided to wait to see the movie when it comes out to see if it fits in with the movie. Some times it matters, some times it doesn’t
@chyna -I did try again and stopped.
“Everybody ewse” Lol
She reminds me a bit of Lana Del Rey but not as good.
As for the movie, I know I won’t see it but that’s a whole other rant. :D
Thanks a lot @lucillelucillelucille, now I’ll have to watch the move just to see how the song fits in with the movie!!! ;}
@lucillex3. Yeah, I didn’t think you could hang with the big dogs and listen all the way through.
It sounds like a cat caught in a biscuit tin…an awful din!
Hey that ryhmes :D
My eyes! I can’t unsee the onesie.
@chyna -I wonder if that caught on as men’s loungewear?
I had forgotten about the blue onesie…Now I don’t want to unsee it!!!
Yes, the onesie was a fad for a very short time following that movie. Only problem was most guys couldn’t pull it off like Jimmy could!!! swang
@LadyMarissa -Lol! Now I’m wondering why I spelled it that way.
