All acronyms are abbreviations, but not all abbreviations are acronyms, true or false?

True. Acronyms are, by definition, abbreviations because the whole point of them is to abbreviate what they represent. But there are plenty of examples of abbreviations that are not acronyms, such as “Mr.” (for “mister”), “Mrs.” (originally for “mistress,” but now for “missus”), “Pres.” (for president), and of course, “abbr.” (which is the abbreviation for “abbreviation”).
Yes, that statement is true. @SavoirFaire said it well…there are plenty of examples of abbreviations that are not acronyms.
I asked because some people think if it’s an acrnym, then it is not an abbreviation.
