How did I end up on the Judicial Watch mailing list?

Asked by LostInParadise (32183points) February 22nd, 2020

Judicial Watch is a right wing group that pushes for voter ID laws. I just received my second survey from them, which I answered in a way that is not likely to please them. Do they just pick people at random, or did they make a mistake in thinking I would support their views?

Maybe you signed an online survey that they looted for emails?

I ended up on some pro-Trump email lists somehow – probably by signing a message to send a complaint to Trump, which they probably ignored and added to their count of his “supporters”. It’s pretty amazing the level of lying hateful idiocy they send out to people on that list.

I’ve received similar emails from groups that I couldn’t support even on my craziest days!!! My way of stopping them is to block them by marking them as SPAM. In my opinion, they are the WORST kind of SPAM!!! There are unscrupulous people out there who collect email addresses & sells them to the highest bidder. These groups send out millions of emails & ONLY need 1 person to fall for it. I do my best to NEVER be that 1 person by choosing to let someone else be their falll guy!!!

I am not getting emails but snail mail.

Why don’t you look at their website. Your comment is like saying McDonald’s is a place where you can get a package of salt.

You could try emailing them and asking where they obtain email addresses. I have done this more than once.
