Four more people just died in Washington State making it six American deaths total. Do you have a link on what this virus does to the body causing its death? In layman terms maybe? Thank you.

They die of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (Link). Their lungs fill with fluid.
Saw the YouTube link. TY! What I was afraid of exactly. Especially for a friend of mine who has MS and was in lung related critical condition last year which almost killed him. Two weeks in the ICU with ventilation. Can’t help but wonder if there’s enough ventilators in US hospitals in case they would be needed.
Btw, the use of the ventilator in the ICU was 400 bucks a day if I’m not mistaken.
If you can’t breathe you die. People get pneumonia.
@mazingerz88 There are roughly 100,000 ICU beds in the US. The occupancy rate runs about 70%. That is before one considers the needs to handle a pandemic.
$400 per day for a ventilator sounds low, especially with a regular hospital room running upwards of $10,000 per day.
Also, the virus causes a fever. If your body temperature gets too hot, there’s a risk of permanent brain damage or death.
I would add. It seems like most deaths, were people with previous health conditions.
Wash your hands frequently, everyone…
It’s going to worse, before it gets better, but we’ll get through this.
