I found a can of Coke manufactured in 2013. Would it still have fizz? Would it taste half way decent?
Or should it go straight to the garbage?

I’d open it just to see if it would fizz.
Others might pour it in the toilet and say they saw it on Hints from Heloise.
I believe that this video will answer your question satisfactorily.
Only one way to find out…
Being in a hermetically sealed container should prevent fizz loss, but it might taste somewhat metallic.
If it is not a diet soda, it might be OK. Diet sodas really do expire shortly after their expiry date. The artificial sweet leaves. I have thrown many away in the past. I stopped drinking soda about seven years ago. 100%
It will be just fine and taste just fine.
I think one in possession of such a can would be best for answering.
I’m waiting for you to let us know.
Leave it alone the carbon dioxide will degrade the protective lining between the can and soda. You DO NOT want to ingest the dissolved aluminum. My kid will no longer use caphalon or other aluminum cookware.
I would never put it in the trash. Open it and give it a try. Or dump it but whatever you do, recycle the can.
Side note: If it were a really old and rusty can or disgusting for some reason we’d take it out back and shoot it with a pellet gun. Fun!
