Visiting my mother in assisted living. They were locked down a few days ago.

Going to the movies and restaurants. Seeing people at the Meeting House on Sundays. If it’s summer by then, going to the beach.

rebbel's avatar

Yeah, hugging for me too.
And fly to my girlfriend asap.

S.I.P.?

There’s a surgery I have been trying to arrange for close to a year, and one thing or another has gotten in the way. I have an appointment for the 30th to get that process started. I am hoping they won’t have to cancel that. They already postponed a mammogram I was scheduled for last week.
Even though I am in a low number area, the VA hospitals are bracing to take civilian cases from overcrowded hospitals, so a lot of stuff is being postponed.

Other than that, my life will not change much, unless the surgery gives me a new grip on my life I’m hoping for.

The lectures I attend, zumba, live music at the town squares, travel, getting new glasses, seeing my friends, not worrying so much about my sister.

Not much comes to mind, honestly. I think I’m probably depressed. I think it will be hard to force myself to go out again when this is over.

Patty_Melt's avatar

Don’t push yourself into what you’re not ready for, but to face the world outside and feel the confidence that the world is still here for you, that will be mentally healing, I think.

Going to an in person AA meeting.

And going for a run around the reservoir, it has been closed since last Tuesday.

Buying toilet paper.

We had several standup comics coming to my city in the next few months. I was saving to purchase tickets for Jim Norton for May 1. I’m glad I didn’t purchase tickets yet. I look forward to the day I can.

@filmfann

When does your quarantine end?

Have you been tested yet?

Call_Me_Jay's avatar

Sorry to intrude, but I have an off-topic question. How do I ask a new question? The function seems broken. I tried two different browsers on two different computers.

Brian1946's avatar

@Call_Me_Jay

I just posted a question using my desktop computer and Firefox: https://www.fluther.com/220079/test/

KNOWITALL's avatar

@zenvelo I feel for you on the meetings. Is there online support possibly?

zenvelo's avatar

@KNOWITALL Yes, there is a vary active network of on line meetings using zoom and similar apps. I even invited another jelly in recovery to join the Remote Recovery group on facebook.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

I’d like to go to the zoo.

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@Call_Me_Jay I can’t ask new questions from my computer, either, but I had luck with mobile.

ucme's avatar

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille Okay Cleo, start walkin & I shall surely follow lol

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme Are you an employee of the Ministry of Silly walks?

filmfann's avatar

@Brian1946 We are supposed to be released tomorrow morning. If our temperature checks alarm them, we will be held back. So far, our temperatures have been fine.
We chose not to be tested.
If tested, and it came back negative, we were told we would still have to wait for the 14 day quarantine to end before being released.
If our test came back positive, we would be held back.
If we took the test, and the results hadn’t come back yet, we would be held back.
There really wasn’t a reason to test, as long as we were feeling well.

Glad to hear it @filmfann.

We drove out to Kaw lake yesterday. It was closed. I’ll be looking forward to going to the lake.

Dutchess_III's avatar

You’d think things like lakes would remain open. You don’t come within many yards of other people, except those in your group.

zenvelo's avatar

@Dutchess_III Marin County closed all the parks and open spaces because with nothing else to do, the beaches and all the trails were as crowded as Fourth of July.

Dutchess_III's avatar

That makes sense @zenvelo, although it didn’t happen here. We went to our local lake 2 weeks ago. We were the only ones there.

I tell you what was kind of mooky were the huge casions just across the Oklahoma border, completely deserted. They have these hugs light bill boards that usually have names of famous singers who we be appearing. Those bill boards just said, “WE ARE CLOSED” in gigantic letters.

Patty_Melt's avatar

I’m going to get a t shirt printed that says, “sanitized for your protection.”

kritiper's avatar

I feel like putting a sign on the back of my truck that says “This vehicle has NOT been sanitized!”

I am thinking if will be late spring or summer when the whole thing ends, and there will be one heck of a “St. Patrick’s Day/Cinco de Mayo/Mother’s Day/Father’s Day/Easter/Summer barbecue/Missed Spring Break” all at once party.

zenvelo's avatar

^^^^ @jca2 I have been thinking Corona Beer will need an innovative Cinco de Mayo promotion.
