It would appear there is safety in loneliness.

@stanleybmanly All of my friends are from Fluther. None in real life unless you count my 10 or so Facebook friends.

I’ve been social distancing for years, because I’m allergic to hand sanitizer, Lysol and fragrances (they give me asthma). Now that they are being used far more than they ever were, I’m staying home even more.

I can understand people using disinfectants, but not their obsession with fragrances. It took me a long time to accept that.

I have rearranged my life so the majority of my social interaction is online or with the phone. It’s still a challenge to stay busy and alert.

So your answer is yes.

I haven’t been able to live my usual preferred isolated lifestyle for the past couple of years. But, now that the initial financial panic has subsided and a fortunate safety net has let me breathe, I’m actually in my element. It feels natural to avoid people and touching, so needing encouraged to live this way feels pretty good. Lol. Seriously, though.

I don’t quite consider myself a shut-it, but I can do well both in solitude and with people, just because I have a busy mind. I think this is the reason why I do so well during the quarantine I’m going to celebrate my 3rd moths of quarantine btw :D But then again I have access to the Internet and I can talk to people online, and I’m not demanding when it comes to interaction.

You’re right, make lemonade out of lemons. The most important thing isn’t being a shut-in, but having optimism. I have so many plans for the day the virus is gone and I can’t wait to do them all. And looking toward them gives me more motivation to stay home :)

I’m not sure about that. But, in a lot of ways my day to day life hasn’t changed much at all. Due to mood disorders/medication and low finances I wasn’t really out much more before this all began.

Yes as they have learned to value themselves and keep busy on there goals, projects etc

Some people outgrow the need for validation from others by learning there own value in themselves.( acceptance).
